Tim Capps



Johnson Law Group was proud to be bring on Tim Capps as part of the JLG team. Tim is truly in a class of his own with being among the less than 1% of attornys in Illinois, certified by the Illinois Supreme Court to act as lead counsel in Death Penalty cases, a duty Tim has performed FIVE times! Tim has also served as co-counsel on two additional death penalty cases and has handled a half dozen more non-capitol murder cases.

In addition to Tim's 13+ years in the civilian sector, Tim also acted as prosecutor and defense for four years in the US Navy JAG Corps, trying cases in seven different countries including the Mediterranean and the Persan Gulf. Tim's extensive and diverse background in criminal defense will provide a valuable addition to the staff of the Johnson Law Group.
